Q.2. What will come in place of ' ? '
  1. W
  2. U
  3. S
  4. M
Putting A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4,……………. Y=25, Z=26. We have: H+O = 8+15 = 23, I+M = 9+13 = 22, T+D = 20+4 = 24. Since B = 2, so value corresponding to missing letter = (25 - 2) = 23. So the missing letter is the 23rd letter of the English alphabet, which is W. Hence answer is (a) option.
Q.3. Refer to the data below and answer the questions that follow:
A 3X3 grid is formed by placing digits 1 to 9 in it in such a way that:
  1. 1 and 3 are in direct contact with only 3 other digits.
  2. 5 is in contact with all other digits.
  3. 2 and 8 are in the same horizontal and in contact with only 3 other digits.
  4. 1 and 8 lie on the same vertical with 3 placed in the third column of the grid.
The digits in the grid are represented by A(I,J) where I indicates the row number and J the column number, like A(1,1), A(1,2) etc.
Which number cannot be on A (2,2) ?
  1. 1
  2. 2
  3. 3
  4. All of these
As 5 is in contact with all the digits, it lies on A (2,2). So, none of 1, 2 or 3 can be present on A(2, 2). Thus correct Answer is option (4).
Q.4. If GOOGLE is coded as 4 and ABSENTEE as 6, then what is the code for LETTERS?
  1. 6
  2. 7
  3. 5

Each word is coded by the number of different alphabets present in the word (no repetition). Number of different alphabets in "LETTERS" are 5.
Q.5. Raja is twelfth from the right and Praja is twelfth from the left in a row of boys. When Raja and Praja interchange their positions, Praja will be twenty-ninth from the left. Which of the following will be Raja’s position from the right?
Initially Raja is twelfth from the right and his position is occupied by Suraj after interchange takes place and this position becomes twenty ninth from the left. Therefore, total number of students=12+29-1=40 and Rajan’s position from the right = Total number of students – His position from the left+1. Therefore, Raja’s position from the right= 40-12+1=29.
Q.6. Forty students are standing in a single row such that after the first boy, there is one girl. After the second boy, there are two girls. After the third boy, there are three girls and so on. Work out the number of girls in the second-half of the row.
The arrangement in the parking: B+G+B+2G+B+3G+B+4G+B+5G+B+6G+B+7G+B+5G= 40 Students. So number of girls in the second half of the row = 6+7+5=18.
Q.7. Lily, Snowy and Esha are working with Mrs Daring Daughters at Delhi. They lunch together on every working day  at Cafe Paris where they also order wine based on the following premises:
A. Esha has wine only if either Lily or Snowy or both have it.
B. Unless neither Lily nor Snowy have wine, Esha must have it.
C. Snowy and Esha never have wine together.
D. If Lily does not have wine, either Snowy or Esha or both have it.
Who order(s) wine?
Premise D may be alternatively stated as 'either' Lily or Snowy or Esha must have wine'. Considering Premise A in the light of this, it is easy to infer that either Lily or Snowy must have wine. Consequently, from Premise B it is apparent that Esha too must have wine. However, Snowy cannot have wine when Esha does (Premise C), it stands to reason that both Lily and Esha have wine where as Snowy never does.
Q.8. If MADRAS is coded as 19-7-10-24-7-25, how will you code SPIDER?
Each letter is added + 6 steps to its alphabetical position.. So answer will be: 25-22-15-10-11-24.
Q.9. Amla, Bamla, Camla, Damla and Emala are good friends. Only two of them are always honest. The other three persons are sometimes honest and sometimes not. When they were asked about who is a liar. Here are the answers from them:
  1. Amla said: Bamla is not a lier.
  2. Bamla said: Camla is a liar.
  3. Camla said: Damla is a liar.
  4. Damla said: Emala is a liar.
  5. Emala said: Bamla is a liar.
  6. Amla said: Emala is not a liar.
  7. Emala said: Camla is a liar.
Find out which two persons are always honest?
If Amla is honest, then the statement 1 and 6 are true. In this case three of them, Amla, Bamla and Emala would be honest which has a conflict with the fact. So Amla must be a liar.
If Camla is honest, then according to statement 3 - Damla is a liar. Statement 4 will tell us Emala should be honest. Statement 7 will tell us Camla is a liar, which will have a conflict with our assumption. So Camla must be a liar.
If Emala is honest, then according to statement 5 Bamla is a liar. Statement 2 will tell us Camla is honest. In the meantime, statement 7 tells us Camla is a liar that is a conflict. So Emala is also a liar.
We can verify Bamla and Damla are honest by going through each statement.

Q.10. There are 3 containers. 1st container is having only red marbles, 2nd container is having only yellow marbles & the 3rd container is having both red & yellow marbles. All 3 containers are completely mislabeled. If you are allowed to take 1 marble from 1 of the containers to examine it & then tell which marble is in which container, which container would you choose?
You should choose the container labeled "red & yellow" marbles. As it is mislabeled so that it cannot contain both colours. If you pick a yellow marble, then you know that the container labeled "red" marbles must contain the mixed marbles. The container labelled yellow marbles can have "red" marbles only. Similarly, if you pick a red marble from the container labeled "red & yellow" marbles, then also you can determine the correct labels for all the containers.
