Level 1: Let’s get warmed up
Conductive: Having the quality or power of conducting heat or electricity or sound.
I did so because I wanted an experience that was unique and conductive to my growth in this world.
Homogenous: All of the same or similar kind or nature
The gypsies are a close knit homogenous group.
Motivate: Give an incentive for action
His hard work was motivated by a need to achieve his goals.
Phobia: The fear of or aversion to something
She has a phobia of closed spaces.
Rationalize: Weed out unwanted or unnecessary things
They have been unable to modernize and rationalize the business.
Superfluous: Serving no useful purpose
My presence at the afternoon’s proceedings was superfluous.
Therapy: The act of caring for someone
He is having therapy to conquer his phobia.
Trend: A general direction in which something tends to move
The momentary trend of the stock-market is positive.
Level 2: Let’s take it up a notch
Austere: Severely simple
The life of a desert nomad is very Austere.
Confront: Oppose, as in hostility or a competition
I wish to confront my accuser in a court of law.
Glib: Marked by lack of intellectual depth
He is full of glib excuses for his past mistakes.
Iconoclast: A destroyer of images used in religious worship
He was an iconoclast who refused to be bound by tradition.
Malleable: Capable of being shaped or bent or drawn out
Gold is an extremely malleable metal.
Nascent: Being born or beginning
The science of genomics is still nascent.
Plunge: Drop steeply
The stock market plunged due to negative news.
Servile: Submissive or fawning in attitude or behaviour
He was subservient and servile in public.
Sojourn: A temporary stay
The children were happy by a sojourn in the log cabin while a proper house was being built for them.
Tenable: Based on sound reasoning or evidence
This argument is simply not tenable.
Volition: The act of making a choice
He followed his father out of his own volition.
Wilted: Become limp
The flowers wilted in the heat.

Level 3: Time to be a master
Antipathy: A feeling of intense dislike
Cats were his greatest antipathy.
Aquiline: Curved down like an eagle's beak
His aquiline nose is a prominent feature of his face.
Covet: Wish, long, or crave for
She coveted her fur coat.
Erudite: Having or showing profound knowledge
I found him a charming and erudite companion.
Felicitous: Exhibiting an agreeably appropriate manner or style
Her speech was not at all felicitous while greeting the guests.
Frigid: Extremely cold
She replied with a frigid smile to his question.
Germane: Relevant and appropriate
He asks questions that are central and germane to the issue.
Halcyon: Idyllically calm and peaceful; suggesting happy tranquillity
The next day dawned sunny with a halcyon blue sky after a stormy one.
Ignominious: deserving or bringing disgrace or shame
Many thought that he was doomed to ignominious failure because of his sloppy ways.
Ingratiate: Gain favour with somebody by deliberate efforts
She quickly sought to ingratiate herself with the new administration.
Legerdemain: An illusory feat
He is a financial and legal legerdemain.
Misogyny: Hatred of women
Misogyny is still prevalent in some patriarchal families.
Parochial: Relating to or supported by or located in a parish
He was uncomfortable in the stuffy and parochial atmosphere of a small village.
Penury: A state of extreme poverty or destitution
Suddenly left penniless after his business failed, he had to live in penury.
Perfidious: Tending to betray
She says that the politicians are a perfidious breed.
Plebiscite: A vote by the electorate determining public opinion on a question of national importance
The future of the country should be decided by plebiscite.
Procrastination: Slowness as a consequence of not getting around to it
Humans are in the habit of procrastination, they tend to delay their work to the next day almost always.
Recalcitrant: Stubbornly resistant to authority or control
She is a recalcitrant child of an unhappy mother.
Seethe: Be in an agitated emotional state
I seethed with anger over the insult.
Vertigo: A reeling sensation
Keep her back from the edge of the cliff-she suffers from vertigo.
