Ten years ago the age of father was twice that of son and after ten years it will be 1.5 times that of son. Find the present age of son.

Let present age of father is x and that of son is y.
So x – 10 = 2( y – 10)
=> x – 2y = – 10 ….(i)
Also, x + 10 = 1.5 ( y + 10)
=> 2x – 3y = 10……(ii)
Solving (i) and (ii) we get x = 50 and y = 30.
